IMPORTANCE OF CULTIVATING A READING CULTURE IN STUDENTS

From my experience with some students, I have noticed a significant lack of reading culture, especially among those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many students from poor families face numerous challenges in their pursuit of education. They must balance their schoolwork with helping at home on the farm or doing piecework to afford basic school supplies.

For these students, maturity is essential, even at a young age. However, the key to complementing what they learn in class lies in developing a habit of reading. A strong reading culture is vital for academic success. When students make reading a daily habit, they keep their minds sharp and stay updated. As a result, they can grasp new concepts more quickly and excel in their studies.

Let us nurture the future leaders by fostering a love for reading today!
